biographical info
The Unireverse is a psychedelic Moog rock project comprised of Alex Moskos, ex of the experimental rock band Kubelka, Brian Damage, ex of Phÿcus, and Michael Caffery of Daydream Square (and ex of Beautifuzz). The Unireverse combines classic Moog sounds with Krautrock, with ear for improvisation gained from countless hours spent listening to Sun Ra.
Originally, The Unireverse envisioned doing Moog pop, but during their first jam session the sound just blasted off into space, and since then has gone further and further out.
In early 2001 they released a CDr of their first jam sessions, "The Unireverse Plays The Music Of Godspeed You Black Emperor* On The Moog (*And Others)". IIt was followed quickly by an even heavier and crazier 12", the "Katron EP". 2002 saw the release of the CDr "The Unireverse Plays the Music, Vol II: Explosions d'Etoiles", with covers and two improvs - the title track and "Block Rockin' Stockhausen". More streched out that the first! Yes, The Unireverse does covers in the style of classic Moog LPs, but his is not a Moog novelty band! The Unireverse is doing some crazy space rock, fer real!
Out now is our latest 12", " U Feel Love", with our cover of "I Feel Love", and on the flip, our friends The Lesbians On Ecstacy. We're currently recording material for our first "proper" CD. Next stop Jupiter!
