biographical info
A crunchy pop rock trio loaded with alt-country sentimentality; the Pop Shove Its are an
Indie-rock force to be reckoned with. This band delivers a revved-up rock show with uncompromising intelligence both
lyrically and musically. With chiming guitars, vocal hooks a plenty, and a sound all their
own, the Pop Shove Its have foraged their way through 3 years, one ep, one full length
Cd, and 80 odd shows throughout Ontario… Having rocked audiences at The Fantastic
Pop Festival (Windsor), The Tulip Festival (Ottawa), New Music Night @ The Horseshoe
(Toronto), The Aurora Festival (Ottawa), as well as successful showcases at Canadian
Music Week and NXNE in the last year alone.
In September 2001 the band released its supercharged debut, upon which Toronto's Now
Magazine bestowed 4 stars and raved, 'their songs are surprisingly sophisticated, neatly
assembled and fired out with wired-up intensity…'
