biographical info

ANCIENT HISTORY The MOTES have been around for a long time, but you probably haven’t heard of them. Basement dwellers. Didn’t get out much. Recorded some cassettes on their four track, 1994 - 1997. Maybe your friend had a dubbed copy of one of them. HISTORY Formed a live band in 1995 after a brief period of cult status fame. Played some shows. Disappeared. RECENT HISTORY Various MOTES appeared in various places. New music was made. The names NORTH of AMERICA and RECYCLONE came up often. People talked. PRESENT Dependent Music has arranged to re-release "The Remains of False Starts". This CD release will include the "Trellis I Tripod" EP, and numerous previously unreleased songs. FUTURE The members of the MOTES continue to produce new music in various other projects, most notably INSTRUMENTS (www.instrumentslab.com)
