The Marble Index are an electric garage pop trio from Hamilton, Ontario. Their sound and presence combines the raw energy of MC5, the driving volume of The Who, and the pop sensibility of Big Star.
The band is comprised of three close friends and roommates; Brad Germain (guitar+vocals), Adam Knickle (drums), and Ryan Tweedle (bass). The trio's musical direction points towards the future while capturing the magic of inspirational, and important bands such as; The Velvet Underground, The Kinks, or The Rolling Stones.
Over the past year The band has played with bands such as; Hot Hot Heat, The Organ, Danko Jones, The Snitches, Operation Makeout, Sylvai Sylvain, Blinker The Star, etc. In December 2002, They released their first record "EP". Recorded at Mountfairview Sound in just four days, Dan Medakovic captured the bands edgy and energetic sound. The band has a Canadian Music Week Showcase and a west coast tour under their belts. Now they are looking forward to their follow-up album.
