biographical info

Fronted by CBC Radio's Craig Norris, The Kramdens have performed at countless bars, clubs, festivals and benefits over the years. Known for engaging crowds of all kinds, the band has proven versatile enough to entertain equally in any venue, tailoring shows to the crowd and delighting audiences at every turn. They are one of the few bands out there that don't play "to" and audience. They play "with" an audience.

As they begin their 22nd year in existence, The Kramdens have returned to their studio to work on new material. True to form, the songs don't just cross genres, they ignore them. "A good song is a good song" is the guiding principle behind these recordings, as evidenced in the first two releases.

"I Blame The Whiskey" is an old-school , two-stepping study in the George Jones and Tammy Wynette vein. Featuring - for the first time - a duet with Tannis Slimmon (2008's Canadian Folk Music Awards' Contemporary Vocalist of the Year), the song follows a conversation between a love-worn couple, with the woman trying to convince her man to take her dancing.

The second song, "My Own Hands", is a contemplative, personal look at vulnerability, perception, and reality.

These two songs are available as free downloads on the band's website, and there will be more songs coming in the weeks ahead. They are also available streaming, here, on this page.
