biographical info
The July 26th Movement started in 1999 when after Jordan’s long time friend Ian joined the band to replace two other guitarists. In April of 2002, the four boys signed on to Gensub, and quickly became one of it's premiere acts. The band has been quietly gaining momentum in local clubs around Toronto; playing up-scale clubs like The Horseshoe and The Rivoli. The four boys have also been touring Southern Ontario in cities like Kingston, Kitchener, Windsor and Hamilton and have begun to emerge as one of the scene's most valuable bands. They were recently awarded the FACTOR professional demo award in March 2003.
The July 26th Movement have just completed work on their debut EP entitled: Take a Walk Outside. This EP is scheduled to be released on May 14th, 2004.
Late in 2003, The July 26th Movement decided to leave their long-time indie label due to irreconcilable differences but are continuing to work hard at what they’re doing as well as delivering show-stopping performances all over Southern Ontario. Over the last 4 years, the boys have matured into a band with a restlessness and urgency about them while remaining able to look at themselves with light hearts. The July 26th Movement embody everything that rock n’ roll should be in the 21st Century. Passionate, intelligent, charming, and talented, The July 26th Movement are, in a musical age of mediocrity and formula, a band worth standing behind.
They are now known as "The Coast" (see NMC).
