biographical info
he Front is a five-piece live hip-hop band from Vancouver comprised of bass, drums, keys and two rapid-fire MCs.
Fresh from being crowned CiTR's SHINDIG battle of the bands champions this past December, The Front independently released their debut album 'Signs of Life', co-produced by the band and engineer Ben Brown (Blue Wave Studios). The album features 10 slamming tracks of hip-hop, soul, funk, & gospel music, influenced by everything from Hieroglyphics and Herbie Hancock, to Blackalicious and Stevie Wonder. Currently charting on CiTR, CFRO, and CJSF radio, 'Signs of Life' is receiving great reviews everywhere it's being played.
The band has become known for their incendiary live shows, earning them recent high profile gigs at Canadian Music Week (Toronto), the World Ski & Snowboard Festival (Whistler), and Slam City Jam (Vancouver). With tons of local club shows in Vancouver and Victoria and a showcase at NXNE in Toronto this June, The Front is fast becoming the hip-hop band to watch in 2004.
