The Farrell Bros. - The Future of Rockabilly!
Selkirk, Manitoba’s The Farrell Bros. rock like crazy! Frantic Rockabilly with a country twang. A punk rock attitude n’ ragged fists raised boogie! It’s understandable why The Farrell’s have been described as The Everly Brothers meet The Sex Pistols or The Clash plays Hasil Adkins. Although their sound is firmly rooted in the 50’s Rockabilly tradition, The Farrell’s incorporate many elements and themes into their potent hybrid mix and eagerly draw on the 40 plus years of musical history that have elapsed since Rockabilly’s heyday.
From their 1998 debut album “Ballad of Jackpine Slash” to 2000’s “Go to Hell!” through 2003’s “Rumble @ The Opry!” and on to their latest “This Is A Riot!”, The Farrell’s continue to expound those virtues. “There are a lot of things that are stale about Rockabilly today” sez Shawn Farrell.---------------------
“We don’t limit ourselves. To do so wouldn’t accurately reflect the true spirit of Rockabilly. It was a revolutionary sound then, and it should be a revolutionary sound now!” adds Gordie Farrell.
Revolutionary indeed! With their new album, guest tracks on numerous compilations, videos and harrowing tour schedule, The Farrell’s look to be in for another rockin’ year! The future of Rockabilly is in good hands with Selkirk, Manitoba’s favorite sons.
