biographical info
Combining their own signature brand of rock ‘n’ roll with elements from the mid 1990’s Midwest emo explosion (a la Cap’n Jazz, Braid, American Football) and the pop sensibilities of acts such as Piebald and Jimmy Eat World, The Buzzing Bees manage to create music in which their influences are evident but not to such an extent that the band does not have a unique sound to call its own. To date, they have released an 11 song full-length, entitled You’ll Wish You Were Deaf (2003) and a 2 song 7" (2002). Ahead is Beep! Beep! I’m a Jeep, a new 10 song full-length recorded by engineering maestro Jesse Gander (d.b.s., Three Inches of Blood) set for a May 2004 release. With their live performance, The Buzzing Bees manage to leave a lasting impression. A cross-country tour in August 2002, a western Canadian trek in February 2003 and a five-week jaunt across Canada in the summer of 2003 have all helped establish the band’s reputation as a premier indie rock outfit from one ocean to the next.
