The Approachables began in late ’97 when the group met at a cancelled workshop. The six of them showed up on the first day to find an empty room. They became friends and soon formed a band - drawing straws to decide instruments. They practiced rarely, jammed often, writing songs for fun on Friday nights. As a result of this ongoing creative atmosphere The Approachables have assembled a vast arsenal of original songs. Recently they decided to add some business to their pleasure, and now practice on Friday, jam on Saturday.
The Approachables interests range from jazz to funk to indie rock. You could drop by and find them listening to B.B. King, T-Rex, The Rolling Stones, GSYBE, The Stooges, or the Velvet Underground. On another day, a sunnier day maybe, you could catch ‘em dancing to Frank Sinatra, Public Enemy, Roxy Music, Gram Parsons, Big Star or Blur.
