biographical info

Since releasing their debut CD "At My Table" in 2006, the T. Nile band have toured their sweet harmonies, vintage synths, banjo riffs, and infectious melodies throughout North America and Europe to sold-out shows. Named "Best New Artist" (Canadian Folk Music Awards). Hips will sway... hearts too.

"A unique blend of infectious melodies, gritty vintage synth lines, booty shaking beats, spine tingling harmonies and lyrics, funky banjo riffs, and soaring hooky choruses"

"Like a ray of sunshine on a cold day..."
 Sook-Yin Lee, DNTO, CBC

"a quantum leap in heartfelt emotion
and sonic texture"
~Jeffrey Morgan CREEM magazine

"T. Nile burst onto the scene a few ago out of her native
BC with a hypnotic debut CD. Since then she's been catching the
attention of everyone she plays for with strong writing and
captivating performances" - Eaglewood Folk Festival Review

“Silently by T. Nile is the best summer single I’ve heard so far this year. “Bruce Leperre, Program/Music Director, 730 CKDM

"Come from Galiano Island with a banjo on her knee, Vancouver's T.
Nile could well be the biggest roots noise out of these very rootsy
parts since Neko Case and the Be Good Tanyas."
~ John P.McLaughlin

“…fantastic songs showcasing T.Nile's innate ability to make each song its own. You need to be close to your radio tonight. Be there or as Kinnie Starr says about this artist, you will be missing out on a big piece of tomorrow. Luka Symons, CKUA, (Calgary)

"...The music is outstanding. Haunting in some
places, rootsy and upbeat in others. An interesting juxtaposition of
traditionally conflicting styles..."
~Bill Hurley

"Tamara Nile is one of those young fresh talents that comes along only
once in awhile - an accomplished songwriter and musician, she has that
rare ability to connect with the audience from the start and keep them
engaged." ~Phyllis Stenson, Artistic Director
Harrison Festival Society

“...Comprising nine original songs and a reworked classic, (At My Table) gives notice of an artist who can play different styles while fusing her own sound.... She answers the age old question: Can a banjo be funky? In Nile’s hands, yes it can.” Marke Andrews, The Vancouver Sun

"Eclectic songs, rooted in tradition but looking forward. One of
Canada's musical gifts to the 21st century."
~Gary Cristall
