artist Starship Experience

Far across the cold and distant emptiness of space there lived two men. Born on a planet not unlike our own, just way cooler, they had always dreamt of greater things. So they set off in their stolen rocket, The Starship Experience, in search of adventure. Shawn and Jesse arrived on a faraway planet; Earth. Abducting one of the locals they were soon introduced to the three factors that made them stay; Rock & Roll, Whiskey and Women.

Starship Experience is an unorthodox rock quintet from Toronto, Canada who bring absolutely no original musical talent to the scene. You are more likely to find them sipping scotch at their favorite bar than at a studio rehearsing their songs.

Lead singer/rhythm guitarist/alien Jesse Seberras has trouble remembering his own lyrics, while drummer/producer/part-time-beverage-machine Shawn Hook-Carleton has trouble keeping tempo and paying attention at shows. Bassist Bryan Swartz tries to keep them both in check while scouring bars in search of the perfect rye & ginger. Jesse found lead guitarist MC in an advert on the back of a comic book and had him shipped overseas in a 50kg drum. Shawn downloaded saxomaphonist Alan Mason straight off the internet. Together Starship Experience forms a high energy rock group that sings about everything there is worth singing about: Women, The Internet and Getting Drunk.

In their short history on Earth they have self recorded, produced and burned two full length albums, one live DVD feature, a handful of music videos and an ongoing web series. The ‘live off the floor’ feel they produce is not a new concept, just an old idea for new minds. This raw style is attributed to the band's belief that this planet has had enough of over polished, over produced crap, and is ready for some simple, straightforward crap instead.
