biographical info
Blending the crunch and punch of modern rock with the warmth and feel of classic rock records, Starling’s sound is as aggressive as it is atmospheric.. no surprise when you discover that the band was formed in a basement studio under a Lebanese restaurant in Ottawa. The band likes to flout its “refreshingly tongue-in-cheek world view and charming self-deprecating sense of themselves,” examples of which fill their debut album Untitled. “We’re like the MacGyvers of the recording world,” says singer/songwriter Ian LeFeuvre. “Give us a damp basement with a couple of mics, three feet of rope and a banana peel and we’ll make a good record.”
