Welcome to the new Sonorous Odium CBC Radio 3 page.Since we are new to this network, I found it fitting to recap the events of our last year to give you a little recent history. As
many of you will already know we started the year off with a couple new
members, namely Mike on guitar and Keith on drums. These new additions
have added a lot of depth and freshness to our writing as well as
bringing our live performances and presence to a whole new level. Look
to the next spring/summer to hear what these musicians are capable of in
the studio.
Shortly following their training, on May 8th 2010 to be precise, we released our first EP, titled Reclamation.
The concept art for the digipack is a post-apocalyptic setting, wherein
nature is overtaking the once supreme civilization of man, depicting
the Alberta legislature crumbling and being reclaimed into nature's
womb. The release show was a great success, featuring the excellent
local talent of Samandriel and Quietus. Approximately 380 tickets were
sold and needless to say, the Starlite room was full not only of people
but an energy that both surprised and humbled us. Following the
release we played a handful of small shows, all ages shows, hall shows
here and there, including a Canada Day show in Spruce grove with a
number of great local bands including Death Toll Rising and Civil
Savage. This October we had the great pleasure of sharing the stage once
again with Samandriel for the release of their CD Awakening.
Once again it was a full house and an absolute blast. We were also
joined that night by the Calgarian group Viathyn, who lit up the stage
with an excellent virtuosic progressive metal onslaught. In
these months we have also been fortunate enough to receive some amount
of media attention through the form of reviews. If you wish to read them

Now
we are cooling off from an intense rehearsal schedule and are settling
back into the writing and recording groove. We have a lot of new
material on the go and have already begun the groundwork for our next
two releases! We have begun recording rough tracks already and have thus
taken the first few steps on that long road to new records. Thanks for
taking the time to read this, we will ensure that you are rewarded with
new music soon!
