social deviantz formed in early 1992, and spent a few years performing
and honing their skills before releasing their debut LP "Essential
Mental Nutrients" in 1996. Two songs from "Essential Mental Nutrients"
were featured on successive ICU (Ill Crew Universal) compilations,
sharing space with artists from around the globe. Shows were played,
vinyl was made.
An EP, "minimal", sprang to life in 2000, offering a first taste of
social deviantz' sophomore effort, a 25-song monsterpiece called
"bleaky deky". That album was put on hold when the deviantz went on
hiatus in 2001, but was finally released in 2006, mastered by DJ Sorce from FNDMNTL.
Currently, social deviantz are back in the studio, finishing off a new release called "Escape the Dark" and getting together all their videos and one-sheets and internet friends and money and whatnot. "Escape the Dark" will be complete some time in 2010, though sadly not in time for Christmas. We might make it in time for Kwanzaa.
