biographical info

Give yourself over to the Goat as Adam Khedheri and Steve Elmer did in 1996 when they first hit 'record' on a 4-track in Vancouver, British Columbia and became Snow Goat's.

Today the spirit of the Goat remains intact. Still in abundance are the quirky lyrical and vocal stylings, held together with an array of hooks and a penchant to rock.

Their first year recording together saw the release of a sprawling double-sided cassette, entitled September is Salami Month, described by many of those lucky enough to have heard this rarity as, "the soundtrack to the apocaplypse". A year after that came Enter the Goat which spawned such hits as Helicopter, Trippy Paradise, Downtown, and Rattlesnake and, despite being still a 4-track recording, marked a developement from the outright shambles of their first release. 1998 saw Hello Goat, intended to be the band's 3rd release, getting shelved. It featured tracks like Full Moon, a dreamy ballad, Sexy Needle, a trippy love song, and Sex Change woman, a rocker that told the tale of a sex changed duo on a seedy talk show finding love again after a messy breakup.

In 2000, the Goats' finally got together again to produce the Haunting Malibu EP. For this one, the two enlisted the help of some friends, including long-time collaborator, François Castonguay, on bass, with the results being typically diverse and spirited. Haunting Malibu features songs ranging from an update of the rocking Helicopter from Enter the Goat, to the drum and bass sound of The Dressmakers, to the new-wave sounding Border Patrol, to the psychedelic madness of the title track.
