SitDownTracy is all set to release their second full-length album, Twenty Something Winters, and the event is going down on Saturday, April 21st at the Lo Pub (330 Kennedy Street).
The album in question is the culmination of a years-long process of the band developing their sound. Keyboards, saxophone and strings have been added to the band's guitars/drums setup, vocal arrangements have been expanded, and songs have been re-conceptualized. As a result of these changes, Twenty Something Winters has a sound that is poppier, richer and more highly arranged than SitDownTracy's previous work. With that being said, the energy that marked their earlier efforts is still present here.To help them achieve their new sound, SitDownTracy worked with the great Ryan McVeigh, who in the past has recorded Boats! and the Consumer Goods. Harris Newman, who mastered the album, has Arcade Fire and Wolf Parade among his past mastering credits.
Once Twenty Something Winters is released SitDownTracy is heading out on tour with their pal Gt. Dane. This tour starts in June 2012, revolving around a possible slot in NXNE. The likes of Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal will thus be treated to a taste of the band's new sound.
