artist Simon West

Simon West is a DJ and Producer from Toronto, Ontario. He was exposed to electronic music from an early age, quickly becoming a fan of Trance and House. The first CD he ever purchased being Tiësto's In My Memory.

In high school Simon began producing tracks of his own, most of them in the Trance and Hard-Dance genre's. However he did not share his early productions with many people, often deleting them a sort time after having created them.

Simon began DJing using software and very basic equipment during his one year spent at Sheridan college in Oakville, Ontario, finally purchasing his first professional DJ mixer a short time later. While attending college for film making in Los Angeles, California he began studying and practicing professional production techniques in his spare time. Learning his craft from online tutorial videos and music magazines such as Future Music.

Since then Simon has created tracks in many different genres of electronic/dance music, under a variety of pseudonyms. Upon moving back to Toronto he formed the Hard-Trance act Transit System with best friend Kyle Morris.

Recently however Simon has focused his efforts in the Trance genre. Taking his inspiration from many of the artists who first introduced him to the genre, such as: Tiësto, Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk and Above & Beyond. His ultimate goal is to share his music with the world.
