biographical info

When he says "Sika", the crowd responds loudly "Dime" with an echo effect from wall to wall. For the 27 year old Canadian gold selling hip hop artist Sikadime, it's moments like these that he lives for as he smiles with the sweat dripping from his face. It’s no wonder why he was nominated for a 2011 C.I.M. award for “Male Hip Hop Performer of the Year”. In just one look, you can tell he knows he has the crowd with him that even people like DJ Young Mase for D12 (Shady Records) says during their set that Sikadime is a “tough act to follow.”

Victoria B.C. born and raised Tristan ‘Sika’ Amison first came to notoriety in the early 2000's at the age of 17 becoming the first Canadian artist signed personally by Suge Knight to the now defunct Death Row Records. Since then, the gruff voice emcee has released 12 solo albums, including 2010's highly praised "Carpe Noctem" on Cypress Hill's label Latin Thug Records after making an unforgettable guest appearance on B-Real's "The Harvest" album. Sikadime currently splits his time now between his homes in Sherman Oaks CA and Toronto ON while working on his new album "They Missing Out When They Not Here" to be released in 2012 through Interscope Records.

On “They Missing Out... ”, Sikadime steps the bar up content wise leaving past his dark themes of a hungry mc trying to make it for celebrating on becoming an established artist and producer. Such content is shown on self-produced songs like “I'll B Will U”, “Stay F***ing Gorgeous” and the anthem 1st single “Esquire”. On the aforementioned track "Esquire", Sikadime raps “Walk these streets alone with only these thoughts/ that I'll get anywhere I want past these blocks," implying that only he knows how to push himself to where he wants to go in music.

With a great work ethic and strong head on his shoulders, Sikadime keeps winning fans and music industry veterans over along his way to national icon. DJ Unknown of multi-platinum Canadian hip hop group Tru-Paz states, “and you’re a fan of our music? After talking with the guys, we are now a fan of your life”. Just like that, Sikadime leaves a lasting impression well worth not missing out!
