Well here we are in our new tour van "Anthony the Brave" barreling down the Trans Canada yet again as we have embarked on another summer tour battling record heat waves and mosquitos ambushes at highway side pee stops.
We started our journey on a high note playing to an amazing Canada Day crowd in Fernie who were in the mood to dance! An early 4:00 am rise and off to Edmonton to play a noon slot at The Works Art and Design Festival and the sun was beating down on us; a very nice break from the mountain rains that have been drowning BC. Through the prairies to Minaki Ontario for some parental hospitality and a sweet show in Thunder Bay and now it is 10:06 pm driving in the toward the big nickel for a rogue camp spot.
Tomorrow we are stoked to release two new singles from the new album and descend on Cap City for Ottawa Blues Fest. This will be the first time all of our families will meet and we can't wait to hold the first Shred Kelly family shin-dig before taking the stage at Blues Fest opening for Walk Off The Earth, The Wooden Sky, and of all people....Seal.
Tomorrow we also get the first hard copies of the album in our hands! (Excited beyond words). So all in all, the tour is going swell and without a hitch.... Well I did leave a banjo in Edmonton and a lady in the Bargain Store in Partage le Prairie yelled at Sage, but other than that the canola was beautiful, Lake Superior magestic, the sun always shining and stoke levels through the roof. See you soon Ottawa!
