biographical info

This high-energy chick trio have been serving up their punk rock stylings for over three years, and are ready to unleash their debut CD, Take Out, released by Bobby Dazzler Records. Sticky Rice formed the band before they all owned instruments – they had the attitude, and plenty of it, before the gear. That attitude created a solid punk sound that is enhanced by their original and powerful stage presence. Dressed in Chinese cheong sams and wearing geisha-like white makeup, the trio combines a wicked fashion sense with raw rock and roll moves. Their debut CD, Take Out, shouts out Sticky Rice’s straightforward rock and roll style. Produced by Toronto’s own Sir Ian Blurton, the taste of Sticky Rice is reflected in songs like “Defenses Down” and “Champion”, chock full of chunky guitar riffs, meaty bass lines, and savory drum beats.
