The band, which includes Casey Baker on guitar and lead vocals, Mike DaSilva on guitar and vocals, Trevor Speechly on bass and Tom VanDenEnde on drums, are ready to release their Sonic Unyon debut A Foreward due out February 1st, 2005.
This June, the band will release its debut-full length album Eyes Just Like Forest Fires. Recorded in August and September of 2004, again with Julius Butty at his rural Silo Studios, the album embodies everything that the band has become. The songs prove to be a lot more vocal than in the past and the maturity in both the songwriting and performance is evident immediately.
In advance of A Foreword's release, the band will hit the road in late January supporting Alexisonfire's Dallas Green on his first solo tour. The band will be doing double duty for the tour: they will be opening the shows as well as backing Green for part of his set. Plans are currently being made for more weekend touring until the end of the school year, when the band will be hitting the road across Canada and the Northeastern US for more extensive touring.
"We are excited about the opportunity to prove something we know we are capable of," says guitarist/vocalist Casey Baker in regards to being signed to the Unyon. "Our intentions are to surpass expectations. Everything about Sonic Unyon feels right, from the office staff to the bands. We are excited to work with so many talented people."
