Sittin' Idol is a hard rock band from Calgary, Alberta, Canada that has been in existence since 1997. The band built up a small following with their original lineup until November 1998 when they temporarily disbanded. Now reformed with a new drummer, Sittin' Idol is quickly covering new territory both musically and publicly.
Sittin' Idol has released their debut CD,available HMV online, and are a constant fixture on the local music scene.
Recently, Sittin' Idol were chosen as winners in the 2002 Garage Warz event, hosted by the University of Calgary, Mount Royal College, and SAIT.
Sittin' Idol was featured on the CJAY92 show On the Verge on April 8, 2002.
Brave Words and Bloody Knuckles, a prominent Canadian heavy metal magazine, has reviewed Sittin' Idol in their June issue, available now. Sittin' Idol's debut album was awarded a 9 out of 10 by reviewer Aaron Small.
