biographical info
There are some who say that Ryan MacLennan: Starfighter is the greatest singer/songwriter that Canada has ever produce. There are others who point out that the people saying this are either directly related to him or are trying to get him to do them a favour of some kind—regardless, Ryan presses on. Ryan often sights the rugged northern landscape which surrounds him as the inspiration for his pretty straightforward and not-at-all-unique style of folk. When not playing guitar he can often be found strolling along the frozen beach as the sun sets over a lake which is almost entirely indistinguishable from a field, or huddled in a bus shelter, which (although it is right downtown) it would be pretty hard to argue is not existing within the full force of nature's fury. Sometimes vaguely political, sometimes not, Ryan has created a group of songs which, it must be admitted, are pretty catchy. It’s enjoyable to listen to his songs and hopefully it will continue to be so in the coming years as he rises to some kind of mild, indie-rock notoriety.
