My debut EP - titled 'Midnight Revelation' - is now available online. Hard CD copies will also be available in stores shortly, I'll post a list as soon as possible. Here are the liner notes:
This recording is a sentimental one. A cathartic love letter. A confession. The loss of four souls resonated with me at different times and varying intensities - events which turned my mind to the fleeting nature of mortality and began an examination of my own beliefs regarding death. The three songs at the heart of this album - In This Life, Midnight Revelation, and Once In A While - are meditations on the relationships between the deceased and those they leave behind, consciousness, and regret. Bookended with a song about lost love (Man About Town) and a song about the acceptance of a changed world (Homecoming Blues), it is a tribute to those who are no longer with us, but whose spirits can still be found - if we look hard enough.
Recording took place over the course of a week in October, in the back bedroom of the big white house at 100 Alma St, Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. I played everything and sang everything, preferring to keep the songs relatively naked in their production. The words here are the most important element.
I hope you enjoy this work as much as I enjoyed making it. It was - and continues to be - a labour of love, and I owe many thanks to many people for supporting my efforts throughout the peaks & valleys. I trust you know who you are.
