biographical info

Soon after leaving the much heralded indie band of the early 90s, the Lowest of the Low, Ron began putting together a new band, dubbed The Rusty Nails. The new band was able to incorporate Ron’s songwriting genius with elements of rock, jazz and oftentimes a punk edge. Ron rounded out the line up with the dual sax attack of Christopher Plock and Jason Walters, drummer Mark Hansen, bassist Derrick Brady and Lawrence Nichols adding vocals, harmonica, and melodica. The debut album, Greasing the Star Machine was released in ’98 and featured the single "Suffer Me." Crackstatic was recorded in Toronto and was produced by Ian Blurton (Change of Heart, Blurtonia). The first single, "Bite Down Hard", was added into heavy rotation at many commercial radio stations across Canada and the video was added into rotation at MuchMusic. Their second single, "Crackstatic" is about to hit commercial radio across Canada.
