Apologies for the lack of updates, or responses to the many emails that have been sent in to us regarding our next shows and album release date. Very selfish of us not to reply. But focus comes thru lack of distraction, as flattering or pleasant as the distraction may be. Some recent events have put our tails between our legs and it's taken a few months to find our footing again, however the ground is shaking less and the noise is starting to quiet. So here is a small update to all you fine people. Thru struggle comes triumph.
We lost a few members during our process of recording our first debut CD which started in mid July, it's a 12 song monster that consumes time, money and friendships. We've had little crappy in house recordings done in the past, and live performances recorded and given away to random listeners at shows, but this process has taken a little bit of a tole on the band as a whole. Patience is a virtue, and hopefully when the album is done and available (by Jan 1st for sure), you will feel that the losses will have justified the final result. Our goal is for the songs to be bigger then any one member. We are actively seeking some new members, more to follow upon that as it unfolds. We have been purposely avoiding social media updates, where as the focus is still the album, and we do not like to hand out fluff updates or rainbow flavored lies. After all, we're Rising Waters and do not want to fall into what we have crawled up from.
On a slightly positive note, we are very pleased with what has been accomplished so far studio-wise. We also have some pretty serious new songs that have happened while waiting for our album, partly born from the experience itself.
Being less than 3 years old, RW's is really still a young band, but has learned a lot. We have had too much fun at the start, but with this album comes new purpose, we really want to make the people that support us proud with this album, and even though some would argue that the "physical CD" and "touring" is dead, we will supply you with both to the best of our ability, along with a cheap and dirty fix via digital offerings as well.
2011 will prove to be the year that makes us or breaks us. However it ends up though, what is meant to be will be, and we will place our fate in the hands of the music Gods, and of course...you. Please be aware of the devils in your midst.
