Since then, they’ve released nine full-length albums (including a CD-ROM), several EP’s, and eight self-produced videos. They have also appeared on a host of compilation albums and have racked up over 200, 000 kilometers playing more than 1200 shows across North America.
The band has built a large following by combining a lot of influence-from Punk to rockabilly, hardcore rock ‘n roll and pop-to create it’s own signature sound. They call the sound “kidnoise” and the center of it all is Fun. The band has received raves for it’s high-energy shows and their ability not to take itself too seriously. They’ve played shows with a wide range of bands including the UK Subs, Youth Brigade, Rancid, Soundgarden, The Vibrators, Peter and the Test Tube Babies, The Subhuman, Gob, Vice Squad, MDC, DOA, Nirvana and The Misfits.
The band stated goal is to sell millions of records, to able to make a living doing stuff and to finally get a CD player for their touring van that they call “Pamela Vanderson”.
The Ripcordz have also attempted to bridge gaps in the Canadian music scene by stating their own non-profit music corporation, EnGuard Records, which had more that 40 releases from small Canadian bands, as well as working as an information cooperative for groups.
