biographical info
Richmond Hill, hailing from Sydney, NS, have claimed a spot at the
top of the list of Canada’s most noteworthy up and coming bands.
One of Sydney’s best kept secrets, they exploded on to the Atlantic
Canadian scene with an intense live show fueled by driven, highenergy,
emotionally charged melodic punk rock.
Richmond Hill was formed in October of 2004 by friends Tony
McQuaid and Andrew Greig. After playing together for a while they
sought out another friend Chris MacDonald and shortly thereafter
Christian MacDonald. The last to join was drummer Matt MacNeil.
As things began to come together, the band started to become more
serious. As new songs were written, the desire and need to get into
the studio to record became their number one priority.
The August EP was recorded at Lakewind Sound, a nationally
recognized and award winning studio located in Point Aconi, N.S.
The recording was produced by award winning producer Mike
Sheperd who is also Lakewind’s head engineer. The final product
emerged an honest and mature recording that more than establishes
the band’s seriousness, dedication and passion for their music.
