biographical info
A tuned down telecaster, a precambrian fender reverb amp and a drum kit assembled from several Egyptian tomb raids, these are the vehicles on a sonic excursion with Quadruped, Toronto's foremost instrumental duo. Guitarist Andrew Frontini and drummer Blake Howard mairy melodies that alternate between between black amprehension and teary eyed euphoria to a constantly mutating groove - a synthesis they call "damp compression music". Quadruped has been rocking Toronto and environ's since their inception in the spring of 1999 and released their debut CD "Entering Elderado" in May of 2000. Recorded live to four track, this self produced album succesfully captures the band's spatial ambiance in what Exclaim Magazine calls " a beautiful and inspired offering", Quadruped continues to gig in and around Toronto and is currently working on their second album, scheduled for release in May of 2001.
