Pony Da Look

Pony Da Look is Temple Bates (composer/keyboards/vocals), Amy Bowles (lyrics/vocals/keyboards), Rebecca Mendoza (drums) and Catherine Stockhausen (keyboards/vocals).

This Toronto band’s unusual sound has been described as “Medieval ghost pop”, “Sexy robot make-out music” and “ABBA and the B-52s meets a history of organ music”. The ladies themselves prefer “4 gargoyles spewing juices from our throats”.

With two CD releases completely sold out (2001’s self titled debut and 2003’s “The Forcefield Weakens”) Pony Da Look is very excited to share their new disc with fans this spring. “Shattered Dimensions” contains 10 tracks and two rerecorded audience favourites.

The band is also very pleased to be releasing “Shattered Dimensions” through Sloan’s label Murderecords. Though artistically diverse Pony Da Look and Sloan have been fans and friends of each other for years. Mendoza and Chris Murphy recently celebrated the birth of their son Francisco, who is already sporting a Pony Da Look T-shirt!

With Mendoza and Bowles both taking a break to have babies, Pony Da Look has been out of the spotlight for a while. But all that is about to change.
