biographical info

Inspired by a toy record player he received as a kid, Trevor Sloan adopted the name Phono d’enfant to capture his rustic blend of synth-folk music. While his previous band Audiosleep was known for their experimental, ambient sound, over the years, Trevor began recording more organic and personal songs of his own. In 2010, he released White Blossoms and The Golden Age of Mexican Cinema, two stripped-down and song-oriented albums enriched with warm, warbling synths.

On his third album (released Oct 25, 2011), Phono d’enfant reflects on the theme of youth, weaving together fragments of memories and threads of folk and synth-pop into a warm tapestry of sound. A wistful end of summer record, Balsam Sunrise takes inspiration from road trips and days spent at places like Balsam Lake in Ontario.
