biographical info
Peter Judd is a story-telling singer/song-writer who lives in Kitchener, Ontario. In 2005 his song, "How To Build A Wall", won the humour category at the OCFF's "Songs from the Heart" contest. He has a new CD, Ink Stains. " I play guitar and harmonica, sing and I consider myself a good whistler." Murderers, hard drinkers and heart breakers are just a small sample of the characters you’ll enjoy meeting inside Peter Judd’s new album Ink Stains. It’s seasoned with just enough humour to temper the pain, the kind of pain we all feel from time to time.
Peter is a great live performer who can make a bar full of talkers listen up and buy his CD. He has been entertaining crowds of all ages for the past fifteen years at pubs, clubs and festivals with his own music as well as a large mix of cover tunes. From Johnny Cash to David Bowie- he plays them all. He performed at the Canterbury Folk Festival in 2006 and was invited back again in 2007. In 2007 he also won the 'Last Chance Saloon' event and was a featured performer at the Summerfolk Music Festival in Owen Sound.
Rob Ritchie from the very talented group Tanglefoot was one of the judges at the Last Chance Saloon and had this to say....
At first I just saw "another" man and his guitar, but then Peter started in on those songs of his - full of wit, humour and insight. Before he had finished even a verse "that man and his guitar" had filled the stage with infectious personality. I am a fan. Rob Ritchie Tanglefoot
The always hilarious Wendell Ferguson had a few words about Peter....
Peter Judd (rhymes with 'dud') is a slow-moving, slow-talking, quick-witted songwriter. He's manages to say things we all think about, but he puts those thoughts through his one-of-a-kind brain, and together with his music, they come out in a thoroughly ingenious way. Be it hilarious knee-slapping songs or heartfelt tearjerkers, his music is always listenable. Plus on stage he's always quick with a comment or quip. I like him. You will too.
Wendell Ferguson
And here's one more ...
Peter Judd has a command of the stage that resonates with all in the audience. With his charming songs, self-effacing humour and great chops, he knows how to entertain a crowd.
