biographical info
Peggy's earliest influences stemmed from traditional country music.
By the time she was performing regularly before live audiences, the
music from artists like Gordon Lightfoot, Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell,
and James Taylor had also begun to shape her musical style. Fresh out
of high school she toured extensively across Canada for twelve years as
a solo artist as well as a supporting musician for other groups.
Hailing from a small town in the Ottawa Valley, Ontario, Canada she
remembers her mother and father belting out country tunes in their
dining room. She and her four siblings carried on their parents' love
of music and although Peggy has branched out in her writing those roots
still simmer in the heart of her tunes delivered with a soulful,
resonant voice.
Peggy’s 2002 debut solo CD, 'Fair Is Fair', produced by Gerry
Griffin, charted in the top 20 on the Roots Music Report Folk Chart in
Europe and the US for five weeks, and in the top 100 on the Americana
Chart in the US for five weeks. It was voted in at #12 on the EMS chart
in Europe. Peggy has toured Canada and Australia several times.
Moving
on….. after taking a few years off to raise her two sons, Peggy has
released her much anticipated second CD "FALLING" which was recorded
with Ken Friesen
as producer and engineer. Along with a whole batch of her fresh new
songs, Peggy brought together some of Canada's premier musicians
