Pathological Lovers is a four piece Newfoundland Dense band that makes intense and inviting music for all manner of emotions. If you’re dancing drunk, sharing Sunday tea or robbing a furniture store – they probably have a song suited for the scene.
Fronted by Jody Richardson (Thomas Trio and the Red Albino/Fur Packed Action), Dave Rowe, Grant King and Alex Pierson put more heart and mind into a song than there’s shit in a cat.
PLs have just released their much anticipated debut LP Calling All Favours and are quickly becoming a nationally respected force for the future.
They’re coming…and there’s nothing you can do about it.
“One of the 10 bands that ‘Rock The Rock’”

“…With Pathological Lovers, Jody Richardson seems to have captured the immediacy and interesting song structure and subject matter coupled with brilliant musicianship and presentation that were the best parts of Thomas Trio & The Red Albino. They are exploding in Newfoundland...”
Craig Norris, CBC Radio 3
“Calling All Favours explodes with musical goodness, demands our attention and captivates us with genuine emotion and sensitivity; carefully woven into catchy melodies and superb lyrics. It perfectly captures the energetic intensity of PL’s on-stage presence. The musicianship on this album is exquisite. Like all great artists, Pathological Lovers effectively beguiles us into believing that their music is simple, but upon closer inspection there is so much more to it. It’s only a matter of time they make their mark on the national level…”

“Listen to a few chords from any song, you instantly know the explosive four-piece from St; John's plugs in and rocks. Calling All Favours finds the band putting their foot on the gas and refusing to let up. They bring an energy and a tackle box full of hooks. The charisma and energy that crackles through on the sure fire CBC3 hit Storm Your Little and rockers like Wednesday make you feel like you are in the studio with them as they record the tracks, and if they can even come close to matching that electricity these guys are set to become the next big band to leave Newfoundland for bigger stages and crowds.”

“The Pathological Lovers’ debut album is an hour long propulsive blast of high-energy rock ambition. Jody Richardson with his miracle pipes sounds as passionate and powerful as he ever has, and the production sparkles and snaps as it should…everyone involved is givin’ it their all and playing at the height of their game…”
