biographical info
PHILIPPE has been impressing local audiences for several years with his authentic songs, dynamic guitar playing and undeniable stage presence. His songwriting combines infectious, upbeat pop and quieter acoustic sounds, driven by honest lyrics and distinctive, memorable vocals.
Born in France in 1971, Philippe has been performing publicly by choice for 16 years, although his mother swears he was singing before he could talk. He started writing/recording his own songs in 1992 and has been performing locally in Vancouver for the last 4 years. One of the tracks from his first independently recorded CD “Money Girl” was used in the short film “Guys 101” which recently played at the celebration of independents festival in Vancouver in 2002. Philippe’s writing style is deeply personal with no pretense toward universality. His favourite moments centre around the participation of others in his love of music.
Philippe launches his first full length studio release "which way to go" on November 18 at the Media Club in Vancouver, BC.
