biographical info
PATRICK KEENAN has played in Winnipeg, Manitoba for over a decade, and spreads his subversive piano-rock melodies all over the country with his debut full-length release, "As Constant As The Northern Car," released on Friendly Fire Records, distributed by DEP/Universal.
A rare breed in today’s climate of guitar-slinging singer/songwriters and pre-fab music, his work explores themes which balance brightness and darkness and are full of ambitious melodies and wordplay.
Keenan's sound is distinctive yet oddly elusive, and he is as inspired by Berlioz and Shostakovich as he is by Faith No More.
While the album's sound is fully produced, with several guests filling the sonic void, Patrick’s performances have been equally powerful as a solo act and audiences have been attracted to these intimate presentations of his lyrics and to the charm of his stage presence.
Patrick was a founding member of the groups Captain Keenan, Jubal and The Zoblotnicks. He has also scored and recorded music for the short films “Slaughterbed” and “REM” , and most recently for “Le Facteur Poulpe” by Matthew Rankin.
Happily, on this most recent tour Keenan secured national distribution, and will tour heavily in support of his nationwide release.
