biographical info
When Vancouver indie scene veterans, Annie (Zolty Cracker, Duplex!, knock-down-ginger, The Beekeepers, Great Aunt Ida), Christine (knock-down-ginger, Girl Friday), Joyita (Daisy Duke, Big Yellow Taxi) and Dan (Lonesome Canadians) formed Onward, Voyageur, they immediately began writing and performing original material. Driven by a restless creative energy, the band is continually honing its unique sound both in the studio and on stage, collecting butterfly melodies in their rock and roll net to be released on unsuspecting audiences in bursts of brilliant color.
Their June 2010, self-titled, debut album was recorded at Ogre Studios in Vancouver and mixed by the magical hands of JC/DC’s, David Carswell (New Pornographers, Destroyer, Tegan & Sara). Characterized by tight vocal harmonies, serpentine guitar lines, atmospheric keys and laid-back rhythms, the heady pop potion of Onward, Voyageur is laced with just enough bitterness and bite to make it linger on the sonic palette long after the last chord fades.
