YAAAAY!!!
We're incredibly lucky/honoured/surprised/happy that
we're nominated for The Verge XM's ARTIST OF THE YEAR and ALBUM OF THE
YEAR Awards!!!
VOTE FOR OH NO FOREST FIRES Artist of the Year AND Album of the YearThat's really neat, and here are some reasons why:
1)
A bunch of our friends were nominated too (Dbones, Dancing ghosts,
Amos, Hot Panda, Dan Mangan, WHICH IS AWESOME SO YAY FOR THEM TOO).
2)
Our friends- and R3 favourites- Hey Rosetta! won in the "album of the year" category in
2008, and that's my little brother's band, so if we somehow won this
year then my parents might actually be proud of us for picking music
instead of science and not think we're total assclowns.
3) And I guess this is the main point: we stand to win $25,000.
Seriously.
Think
of all the ridiculous shit we could do with 25g's.... omg. I don't even
want to think about it. Yes I do. No I don't. It's all too much.
But seriously, if you could please please please vote for us, that'd be amazing.
You can only do it once- well, from each individual computer. So go find as many as you can. And vote for us.
I
swear to god, if we win either of these categories then I won't even
apply to med school. That is my promise to you. Dead serious about
this. Don't even consider these "votes"- consider it a petition to keep
me out of med school and in the band thing. DO IT.
