biographical info
Formed on a whim in the mighty railyards of Transcona, Off the Wagon is product of the chance meetings of three troubadours, a plumber and a music archivist.
Notorious guitar stylist Chris Saywell and Joanne Rodriguez "the Philipino fashion Queen -o" were part of a local minstrel show that was heard by Thomas Fodey who was obliged to mold these ripening talents. They hired Matt "The plumber drummer" Coop to round out the band, and Off the Wagon was born. When wandering banjo man Jaxon "wandering banjo man" Haldane hopped off a train in the middle of a rehearsal and it was instantly known by all that the ensemble was complete.
Audiences immediately embraced the band's blue-rare demeanor and laid-back enthusiasm, and it was not long after that people of all ages began to fall for the blend of down-home rock and roll and old time country that has become Off the Wagons trademark.
