What people are saying about Monday I Retire:
"Back at the end of May OttawaTonite.com covered an event for Team Canada Healing Hands for Haiti, a local group of professionals raising funds for much needed rehabilitation medicine in Haiti. While we were there we got to see a new band from Westboro that is sure to be getting some attention this summer. They go by the name Monday I Retire.
Monday I Retire has been blending melodic rock, blues, and pop for the past three years. It is only now that they have broken out of the basement and decided to record a debut EP with Dean Watson of Gallery Studios in the Glebe.
Led by Mackenzie Di Millo on vocals and backed by her brother Ben on guitar, they join guitarist M.J. Heney, a student of bluesman Tony D, and Carleton University music undergrads André Morrill on bass and André St-Denis on drums. Together, the five musicians put on a capturing live show that incorporates powerful vocals, tight grooves, melodic guitar riffs, and a stellar rhythm section."
