biographical info
Microbunny is the name of the music composed by ex-King Cobb Steelie founding member Al Okada. The self-titled debut album is a selection from about 60 tracks written/recorded over a period of 4 years. Al Okada composed and played all instruments in collaboration with vocalist Tamara Williamson. The band went on to become the Ontario Winnners of CBC-Big Break Search for Best Unsigned Canadian Bands. The 2nd album 'Dead Stars' was released in February 2004, which included additional contributions from King Kong Girio, Cino Evil, Liz Forsberg, Becke Gainforth, Sarah McElcheran, Aaron Riches, Locksley Taylor and Graham Bond. After playing a number of live shows the band took a long haitus to regroup and write and record more music. A rare collaborative remix exchange with Kevin Lynn (ex-King Cobb Steelie/Holy Fuck member) resulted in a 4 song remix EP entitled "Microbunny vs. The Straggler - Magnatech' released on the independant Static Clang label. A new 3rd album for release in April 2010 entitled '49 Swans' takes them in a new adventurous direction with vocalist/instrumentalist Rebecca Campbell. The band is preparing for select performances to celebrate the release with additional live collaborators bassist Pete Kirkpatrick, keyboardist Mike Taylor and drummer Cino Evil which features music from this new release as well as re-envisioning much of their past repetoire.
