biographical info
Meggi is a Toronto based singer/songwriter. She began writing when she was a youngin, formed a band with two friends called The Juniper Bends that had a Lennon/Mcartney songwriting approach.. The band played shows around her hometown of Palmerston Ont. and eventually released a self-titled EP recorded at Five Gallon Sound in Listowel Ont. Meggi placed a song in the International Songwriting Competition called Naked Dream. The song made the top 15 in the 'teen category'
Once Meggi moved to the city, she discovered that she writes enough songs that she should just do it on her on. And that she did. While taking a music program at Seneca College, she went to classes during the day and played shows by night with an acoustic guitar and banjo.
In August 2007, she released an EP from Out Of Sound Records (The Meggi Faye EP) She recorded/produced it in her bedroom with friend and bass played Haig Istanboulian and a handful of other friends who played on it. In her last week of school, she left to go on tour to the East Coast with Out Of Sound Records. Meggi formed a 3 piece band that has yet to come up with a name that is as cool as Radiohead or The Beatles. The band is focusing on writing and performing in Toronto. and they will be recording a short demo in March/April.
