biographical info
The quixiotic music of the Canadian group, MacCrimmon's Revenge is rooted in Celtic, Symphonic & Pan Atlantic Traditions (Ireland, Scotland, North Africa, Scandinavia, Cape Breton) & features entirely original compositions performed on acoustic instruments from around the globe. Dark in mood, & symphonic in scale, their music has been described as sounding like "Moldy Trolls Wheezing in Caves".Their highly layered & textured musical works have caught the attention of many film directors & producers. In 1997, the band recorded its first CD "THE RANSOM" at CBC studios in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Their 2nd CD, "ECSTASY", will be released on March 10th, 2007.
"Those of you outside Nova Scotia may not have heard of the music phenomenon known as MacCrimmon's Revenge; Rest assured that in the very near future you will." ---- Irish Music Magazine, Dublin
...a MacCrimmon's Revenge concert is like signing on for a voyage with Captain Nemo on the Nautilus 20,000 leagues below the sea. You are wrapped in a submarine of throbbing tone while exotic Celtic fishes and flora drift past the window of your ears. ---- Stephen Pedersen, The Halifax Herald
