biographical info

Rising out of the early nineties metal and hardcore scenes, Malefaction's music has evolved from their first CD recorded in '95 (the melodic and heavy Smothered) to the release of a handful of 7"s and their second full length CD on the Out of Enslavement label, '98's Man Grows Cold. Throughout this time, Malefaction have refined their sound and have built it into a grind indisputably stealth and extreme. With a pummeling live show, their pure energy and in-your-face lyrics take on the hypocrisies of living under a corporate dictatorship masquarading as a democracy. Crush the Dream, their G7 debut, was recorded in the spring of 2001 with Toronto engineer/funny-man Daryn Barry (The Weakerthans, Sons of Otis, Voivod). Where there is Power, There is Always Resistance, their second volley of grape-shot for G7, is another over-the-top cyclone of grinding, blasting, politically-disobedient disgust that will have all you little pink-bellied bangers running for the nearest thing that even remotely resembles your mommy. With this disc Malefaction have successfully defended their title as Winnipeg's reigning super-heavyweight champions.
