London ON, based Lonnie in the Garden stems from songs written by Lynne Craven. Beginning in 2010, Craven has been forming strong harmonizing duets with fellow Choir-Girl Natasha Roberts. Since then, an ever evolving cast of musicians have all helped plant the “Garden” that now consists of members of fellow townies Wild Domestic and the Guelph ON, based sludge-folk, psych crew WHOOP-Szo. The current incarnation creates a wall of psychedelic and experimental pop sounds that compliments the female core of raspy blues and beautiful gospel. Quickly, the band has gained reverence as one of London's finest and most entertaining live acts, organizing such events as an outdoor garage sale for their recent release, hosted at their “Psychedelic Cottage” home studio and London cultural hub. When not making headway at community based events such as Car Free Day, Grickle Grass Festival, Home Made Jam and Ladyfest, Lonnie in the Garden have been pleasing crowds with opening slots for Bruce Peninsula, Born Ruffians, Sunparlour Players, Jenn Grant, Olenka and the Autumn Lovers and international hit The Jezabels.
With a prolific 2012 under their belt, double showcasing at NXNE and releasing their Out of Sound Records debut EP (Psychedelic Cottage), a split 7”, plus a limited live album release, expectations are set high for 2013.
