   Major events for LRD in 2010; Lance performed for Samick at the NAMM music trade show Anaheim California, with great success. He performed once again in Frankfurt Germany at the Musik Meese from March 24th to 27th for JTR Guitars, and SD amps with booth demo’s, concerts, and clinics. He also released his own product line Loop X Systems. Most recently the Japan Blues Festivals from July 21st to 28th with club dates and guitar clinic at Jungle Guitars Shibuya, Tokyo. The CPT-10 Capo Tuner.

This month we have a new way to keep those capo’ed chords in tune. Introducing the Intelli EXE CPT-10 capo tuner.

While working just like a Capo, the user is also able to tune the strings/chords they are capoing in. This has unique benefits for both stage and studio usage.

Looking at the specs. show’s an auto tuner, with full chromatic ability. And a tuning range from A0(27.5Hz) – C8(4,186Hz) the range listed here translates to usage for more than just a six string guitar. Bass, 12string, and other similar neck sized instruments can be included in the applications of the CPT-10. Tuning is within +/- 1cent accuracy.

The calibration cannot be adjusted. It is preset at 440hz, which would provide one drawback; not being able to calibrate to a piano or harp that is locked in a tuning that is slightly lower or higher than standard tuning.

This doesn’t mean that altered tunings are out of the question. Tunings in Eb or an open tuning is just fine and quite easy, as the tuner itself is chromatic. It does quite a good job of reading a full range of string tunings, and octaves.

Power is provided by two(2) 3Volt lithium cells. Located just above where the CPT-10 hinges to place the capo on the instrument.

Where durability is concerned the CPT-10 is made from die cast aluminium, and is just as strong as any other Capo on the market. You might not want to be leaving this one at the last stage you played or practice space though.

For stage and studio the CPT-10 performs, as you are able to tune on the fret you are capo’ed at. This is the great feature, it helps you be sure that your chords are ringing true, and not sagging slightly out of tune, quietly upsetting your fellow performers. Slightly being out of tune, can actually have a negative impact on the players you are working with, or the producer listening back to your performance in the studio. And many people do make the mistake of just capoing anywhere, and forgetting that the capo has just made slight tuning adjustments to their instrument. Affecting vocal intonation, and not to mention the other players ears when they try to play along.

CPT-10 provides an excellent reference for keeping capo’ed performance’s sharp and on the mark. Ease of tuning and bright LED lighting make it a breeze to view and check your tuning at any spot on the neck.

The Loop 5x System allows for remote control over traditional effect pedals and effect units. With a $599.00 MSRP it will appeal to many guitar players worldwide. Lance Reegan-Diehl conceived the unit, then designed it, while manufacturing in his home country of Korea. The Loop 5x allows you to remotely control five effect loops, A/B output, and it is a regulated 9volt power supply with five 300ma outputs for pedal power. Guitar players can control the unit from anywhere onstage using any length of control cable. Loop 5X keep’s pedals out of harm’s way, with no long audio cable runs to the stage front. Shorter cable distance between instrument, effects, and your amplifier means; more tone to your amp. Lance Reegan-Diehl will be a performing guest artist at Music Korea 2010 with Samick JTR Guitar Series, SD Amp technology, Loop X Systems, with Graphtech and AXON.

   Performance and appearances are scheduled from June 24th to June 26th along with Main Stage performances by the L.R.D. Band , with Megan Kim and David Dauberman. All in their unique Progressive/Rock/Blues style. Over at the SD Amp Technology booth E-51 he will do daily demonstrations of the new amp lines for 2010, and his songwriting partner John Valentine from “KBS morning Pops” will also make an appearance with acoustic performances. International main stage also plays host to Lee Ritenour and Michael Angelo Batio.
