biographical info

LOUD is a Vancouver instrumental trio formed in 1996, composed of electric guitarist Elaine Stef, and taiko (Japanese drum) players Eileen Kage and Leslie Komori. Kage and Komori are well known composers and performers from the Asian Canadian performing arts scene (Uzume Taiko, Kokoro Dance, Katari Taiko, Sawagi Taiko). Stef is a veteran of Canada's alternative music scene (Lillian Allen Band, Rhythm Activism, Moral Lepers, Animal Slaves), and has composed and performed on Juno and Genie award winning productions. LOUD's acclaimed debut "taikoelectric", was co-produced and engineered by Greg Reely (Sarah McLachlan, 54-40, Spirit of the West), and was released in March of 2000. LOUD's live performances have gained them an enthusiastic and growing audience. They have performed in Canada, the US and abroad, as well as collaborating with film and video artists, and for dance and multimedia productions.
