Her father sang her to sleep on the wings of old spirituals, her mother said that singing a prayer was like saying it twice. Lana's childhood was filled with beautiful music and the sound of the sea. Prince Edward Island crafted her growing talent.
As a young girl she learned to play the piano, as a teenager she learned to play the guitar, and as a young women she began to write her own songs. In 1999 she purchased a harp.
Lana’s first CD “One Step Away”(1997) featured inspirational writings which she set to music,
in a folk/Celtic style. Her new CD features 8 origional songs with harp accompaniment, and two traditional pieces. Lana lives in North Battleford, Saskatchewan with her husband and three children. She teaches singing, piano and harp.
