biographical info
Inspired
by life itself, Ben finds music everywhere and everyday in life. As a multi instrumentalist his sense
of music is innate and the momentum of his exploration into composing demonstrates this ability.
Ben displays versatility with styles and is adept at composing scores for film including dramatic
and reflective cues, creating catchy TV and radio themes, as well as writing Funk, Reggae, Latin,
Jazz, Techno and Pop tunes.
Although well versed in many styles, Ben's personal composition style is something that is unique
unto itself. It involves improvisation and spontaneity during the composition and recording process.
"I like to think of composition as setting myself up for good mistakes," says Euerby in
reflection of his own style.
Starting on his own volition, Ben began playing on an old electric organ at the age of 8. Moving
onto piano and saxophone as he got older, he later found inspiration from his high school band teacher
to pursue a career in music.
After flourishing musically in high school Ben went on to Graduate with honor grades from the Internationally
recognized Selkirk College Contemporary Music and Technology Program. Majoring in composition, there
he studied film scoring under the direction of award winning composer Don MacDonald, as well as studying
music for T.V. and radio, songwriting, computer applications to music and ensemble playing.
Recently Ben has finished writing the score for a documentary entitled "Surreal"
by director Erez T. Yanuv Barzilay of Shai Lah Productions. The Film recently screened at "Eco-Films"
Film festival in Rhodos, Greece, “Calgary International Film Festival”, and at the
"Vancouver
World Peace Forum" Film Festival.
